Abstract:

We describe the BTeV trigger and explain why it should, in its abstract form, be applicable to many real time or quasi-real time systmes which are implemented as embedded
systems. We also show that it offers many challenges that must be solved to successfully implement such systems, especially in the area of fault tolerance.
