BTeV Detector Layout & Integration Working Group
TEV Integration and IR
The integration and interaction group is in charge of detector parameters
and of the interaction region. The leader(s) of this group will represent
the collaboration in discussions with the laboratory concerning the
collision hall and interaction region. They will be responsible for the
preliminary design of the magnet, for the layout of the detector hall and
for installation plans.
General charge to the group:
- Review the charge below and modify as required.
- Interface with the Beams Division in design of the collision hall and
the interaction region
- Define the magnet parameters and make a plan for installation
- Examine machine related backgrounds with help of Beams Division and
simulation group.
- Investigate beam pipe and support systems for near tracking system
- Study target options
- Keep track of detector sizes and locations and mediate in case of
interference.
- Draft official layout of the experimental apparatus.
- Investigate and define the necessary support infrastructure for the
experimental hall (e.g. cooling, ventilation, cables, etc.)
- Define the working group structure (any subgroups?).
